The portable power station market has matured rapidly over the past three years — moving from gas-station-grade alternatives for camping into a serious category of household and small-business backup power. ZCForest's portable line has grown alongside that maturity, and 2026 marks a meaningful expansion of the range with several new outdoor-focused models.

What's new

The headline additions are two product families targeting distinct use cases:

LBN-G500 — outdoor and recreational

A 500 Wh constant-power, 700 W peak-power station designed for camping, outdoor work, and small recreational use. The key differentiators are dual wireless-charging pads, multi-port output (AC, USB-C PD, USB-A, DC), and a friendly form factor with integrated handle and lighting.

The wireless charging is genuinely useful — it means phones, earbuds and similar devices can sit on top of the station and charge without a cable. The 500 Wh capacity is sized for a typical weekend trip: it'll run a small fridge for a day, a laptop for many hours, and dozens of phone recharges.

CTECHi-branded heavy-duty range

A higher-capacity range built for power tools, construction sites, and small-business backup. Higher continuous AC output, ruggedised housings, and capacity options that scale into the multi-kWh range. Less consumer-pretty, more job-site-practical.

Why we're investing in portable

It would be easy to view portable power stations as a separate product category from our core stationary storage line — and historically that's how the industry has treated them. We see them as part of the same continuum.

The continuum 500 Wh portable → 1.2 kWh portable → 5 kWh wall battery → 15 kWh wall battery → 100 kWh cabinet → multi-MWh container. Same chemistry, same BMS philosophy, same warranty culture across the whole range.

Customers who buy a portable station for camping often come back two years later asking about a home battery. Customers with a home battery sometimes want a portable for the cabin, the boat, or as a redundant backup. The cross-sell logic works in both directions, and the engineering disciplines (cell selection, BMS firmware, thermal management) carry across.

The use cases that matter

From the field, the practical use cases for portable storage in 2026 are broader than the camping marketing suggests:

  • Outdoor work. Power tools, lighting and small equipment on sites without grid access.
  • Emergency and backup. A 1–2 kWh portable can keep a fridge, modem, lighting and a few devices running through a multi-hour outage — useful in markets with grid reliability issues.
  • Mobile work. Photographers, videographers, and field service technicians powering equipment on location.
  • Remote and off-grid living. Combined with a folding solar panel, a portable becomes a credible primary power source for cabins, RVs and similar applications.

What we ship today

The current portable range covers 500 Wh through 2 kWh+ in several form factors. All units use LiFePO₄ chemistry, all support solar input via MPPT, and all carry the ZCForest 1–2 year complete-unit warranty with extended coverage on core battery components.
